    One of our clients who is part of an international group of hotels, is seeking to recruit an ambitious, determined and highly motivated individual who is willing to embark on a career in hospitality.  

     

    Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, a challenging opportunity has arisen, for those who would like to advance their career within the Finance Department.

    The candidate will be responsible for:

     

          Ensuring the accuracy of the Daily Revenue Report prepared by Night Audit.

          Verifying and spot checking the report and F&B report and supporting documents prepared by Night Audit. 

          Ensuring entertainment / employments checks are signed and explained by a manager and pass these on to the Financial Controller for approval.

          Checking the backup of rebates and pass these on for approval.

          Making sure that all payments and paid outs are handled as per Front Office credit policy.

          Reconciling all interfaces charges.

          All complimentary and house use rooms that have been approved by the General Manager.

          Ensuring that paymaster accounts and permanent folios are checked out on a timely basis.

          Spot checking room rates.

          Checking that all credit card queries are clarified and if necessary action is taken immediately.

          Handling all queries from guests relating to F&B or Rooms.

          Verifying that all voided guest checks are explained and approved by the supervisor or manager.

          Reconciling various general ledger accounts at month end.

          Preparation of reconciliation.

          Auditing of guest safety deposit boxes within specific time frames.

     

    The ideal candidate will:

          Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Cashiering and Income auditing within a 4-5-star hotel.

          Have good command of English language.

          Have excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

          Possess strong knowledge and work experience of hotel systems i.e. (Sun, Opera, Micros), Excel, Word etc.

          Be accurate and detail oriented.

          Be well-groomed and maintain a professional appearance.

    Our client is a Malta-based investment management company authorised and regulated by the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA). The company is responsible for the management and operation of Malta investment funds and holds a full EU AIFM license. The company specialises in international alternative investments with a focus on absolute return, actively managed market and non-market based strategies.

    As a qualified accountant, you will be supporting the London team and be responsible for the local accounting function, which is developing. You will be handling statutory accounts, assist in the preparation of management accounts, cash flow and budgeting, VAT and local taxation matters, as well as liaising with the local auditors.

    Requirements:

    • ACCA Qualified or near completion / CPA
    • Ideally, you would have worked in a reputable Audit firm or the financial services sector
    • Have excellent communication skills in English both written and spoken

  • Junior Accountant

    Our client is a Malta-based investment management company authorised and regulated by the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA). The company is responsible for the management and operation of investment funds and holds a full EU AIFM licence. The company specialises in international alternative investments with a focus on absolute return, actively managed market and non-market based strategies.

    As a Junior Accountant, you would be responsible for:

     

    • Management and administration of day to day bookkeeping for various companies including collation, data input, review and incoming and outgoing payments
    • Supporting the Chief Accountant with accounts preparation for various companies
    • Review and collation of incoming and outgoing invoices from Services Providers and Clients
    • Review and reconciliation of periodical payments relating to a global distribution base
    • Preparation of international payments for final approval
    • Posting and reconciliation of accounting entries to Sage
    • Reconciliation and review of multi-currency bank accounts
    • Initiating and supporting investigations related to payments and receipts
    • Assist in preparation of various company’s Financial Statements, audit and regulatory filings
    • Assist with financial reporting and intercompany recharging
    • Assisting in various accounting projects as required including the ongoing integration of the accounting function into the various companies to provide a full accountancy support function.

     

    Requirements:

    • Either AAT qualified or studying towards their ACCA/ACA exams, but with at least 2 years' experience of working within a public practice accountancy firm or supporting accountancy function.
    • Excellent communication skills being proficient in written and oral English
    • Attention to detail
    • Strong computer skills and basic understanding of accounting practice software preferably Sage
    • Ability to work as part of a team yet self-motivated
    • Excellent organisational skills with proven experience of working to deadlines
    • A degree in accounting or economic subjects and experience of the funds industry would be an advantage.

  • Business Accountant
